Each strip is one survey question, drawn on its own answer scale. The ring is the chosen country, at the average answer of its people; the pale dots are the other 65 countries; the coloured dots are the ten AI models, each at the average of its 100 answers. The red tick is the average of the ten models, and the shaded band runs from the country to it.
THE GAP, IN SD
The gap is the distance from the country to the AI average, measured in standard deviations of the 66 country averages on that question. 1 SD is about how far apart typical countries are on it; a gap of 3 SD means the AI sits farther from this country than most countries sit from each other.
